A brief review and a big preview
A new year has begun—and with it, the perfect moment to pause for a moment and look back. Around Nicole's birthday In July 2025, we launched WENIC Studios as a project close to our hearts. And just in time for my birthday tomorrow, January 8, 2026, it feels just right to take a moment to reflect.
We started in the summer of 2025 with incredible enthusiasm: two heads full of ideas, driven by excitement, energy, and a great deal of drive. Looking back, we can hardly believe how much we have achieved in these first few months. From greeting cards to bookmarks to stickers – we have developed a wide variety of products, including finished items as well as DIY kits and commissioned art. Several collections saw the light of day, we presented ourselves at events and local markets, set up our own online shop, and regularly shared value-added content on social media. And that's only part of what we've achieved during this time.
Of course, it wasn't always easy. There were also some dry spells during these first six months: disappointment when content didn't get the desired response, doubts when orders didn't come in, and those quiet moments when you ask yourself why this project close to your heart isn't loved by all ten billion people in the world as much as by ourselves. 😉 And my lack of patience was challenged once again. As we all know, the devil lies in the details, and things always take five times longer than planned, making time feel like the ultimate final boss.
The journey is still long, and so is our breath. Every challenge is an opportunity to grow, so we can say: Thank you for exactly these experiences over the last six months. We have grown without succumbing to them. We have learned an incredible amount about starting a business, especially without external investors and the financial leeway that comes with them, about the process from art to product, about the peculiarities of paper, printers, glue, labels, and packaging, and also about human interaction and working with a co-founder.
All in all, this half-year has been exciting, thrilling, educational, creative, and incredibly productive.
After a short break at the turn of the year, we are now looking forward to the new year with confidence and curiosity. And we have a lot in store for you! To kick off the new year, we have reorganized and optimized our shop, added new bookmarks and DIY bookmark kits, launched an English version of our shop, and—especially good news for our international customers—activated EU-wide shipping.
